VENUE
For 2025, UKTC is moving to a new venue at the University of Leeds Refectory. The university is situated in the centre of Leeds and has an abundance of amenities close by.

The Refectory is a fantastic venue which has hosted gigs for legends such as Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and Jimi Hendrix. The venue also regularly caters to large corporate events and has a well skilled team keeping the operations running smoothly. Rest assured that we are in good hands.
We're excited for the move, and we think it's going to be a step forward for the tournament.
What are the benefits to the move?
All of the coaches, refs and vendors are in one room together
We are able to offer a Friday night sevens tournament
The bar is exclusive for UKTC coaches on Saturday & Sunday
The bar has an outdoor terrace area for all you nicotine addicts
Table service is offered for drinks throughout the weekend
The on-site accommodation is less than a minutes walk away
The university is central to Leeds and close to everything you could need
There's a whole host of great social venues close by for the evenings
TRAVEL
CAR
PARKING
Leeds is connected by the M1 and the A1, which makes it nice and easy to reach from pretty much anywhere.

The trade off to that is that Navigating Leeds city centre is about as enjoyable as being on the receiving end of a turn 16 foul.

Plan as you normally would, Google Maps is your friend here.
Being central in Leeds means that there's an abundance of parking available, but it can mean that it comes at a premium price.

Shop around and check out all of the available options. Splitting the cost between a team should work out pretty good.
Keep an eye out for our tourist pack. This will detail some recommendations.
TRAIN
Leeds has a massive central station with links to all over the country. We have a direct line to London for all of the southern coaches heading up.

The station itself is a 25 minute walk to the venue. A taxi or a bus from will be less than a 10 minute journey.

Book in advance and saves those pennies. And just as a heads up, Leeds operates ticket barriers
FLIGHTS
For international coaches flying in, you've got two great airport options.

Leeds Bradford airport is situated close by. There are buses into the city, but a taxi may be more reasonable.

Or, you can choose to fly into Manchester airport. The airport has its own train station where you can then travel across to Leeds. There are buses, but these may be a bit slower.
A full tourist pack with bar, restaurant, and parking recommendations is coming soon.

ACCOMMODATION
Another great benefit of moving to the University of Leeds is that we can offer on-site accommodation. This means that you are just a few minutes walk away from your bed to your table. And with the university being so central, the accommodation is close by to all of the great bars and social venues that the city has to offer.

Each room is single occupancy and comes with a private bathroom. No more will you be awakened by drunken stumblings into the room or the snoring of your teammates. The building also offers a communal lobby space where you can hang out with your friends and the other coaches.

Whilst the university does offer a large amount of available rooms, these are offered on a first come, first served basis. We are confident that there is more than enough space for all coaches, but these rooms can be booked by other functions and visitors. We encourage you to reserve your place early to guarantee you and your teammates a place.
